9:30 — Coffee. Read a client note: "Can we add a team page?" You smile, because the CMS was set up for exactly this. 10:00 — Build a team collection template. Fifteen minutes. The client will add people themselves. 11:00 — New project kickoff call. Ask the important question: "Who will edit this site after launch?" 12:30 — Lunch. Away from the screen. Yes, really. 14:00 — Tune a scroll animation in Framer until it feels calm rather than showy. Animations are like spices; you notice too much faster than too little. 15:30 — Lighthouse run on yesterday's build. Compress two images. Fix a missing alt text. 16:30 — Record a three-minute handover video for a different client. 17:30 — Write tomorrow's list. Close the laptop.
This route suits people who like visual craft, tidy structure and the satisfaction of handing over something that just works.
What the work is
Building marketing sites, landing pages, portfolios and content sites in no-code tools — mainly Framer and Webflow — so that non-technical teams can update them. The skill isn't only dragging boxes. It's structure: classes, components, CMS design, responsive behaviour, accessibility, speed and a clean handover.
Three ways to do this work
Card 1: Freelance
You find clients, scope, build and hand over. Flexible, uneven income, and you'll do your own sales. Good if you already have a network. Taxes and contracts are outside our scope; ask a local adviser.
Card 2: Agency
You join a studio that sells sites and get a steady flow of projects. Less selling, more building, and you learn fast from other builders. Many agencies list Webflow or Framer expertise on their sites.
Card 3: In-house
You own one company's marketing site and work with marketing daily. Fewer projects, deeper ownership — experiments, landing pages, launches. Overlaps with CRO.

Choose-your-own-adventure day
Six short scenes from a freelance builder's day, two choices each. A client asks for "just one more page" on launch day — do you say yes, or scope it for next week? A page is slow — compress images, or remove the video? Each choice shows a gentle consequence and a tip. There's no losing ending; every path ends with a site shipped and something learned.

- Frontend developers — fastest start. See the frontend bridge.
- Web and WordPress developers — you already understand clients and CMSs.
- Designers — you'll need to learn structure and responsive rules, but your eye is the hard part.
Your realistic 90 days
Web designers, WordPress developers and marketing designers come here. Startups move marketing sites to Framer or Webflow and need someone who designs, builds and handles CMS and SEO. Your starting artefact is a website you designed or built.
Assumes 2–3 hours a day alongside job applications, a laptop and a phone, and free plans only. Every step has a smaller version and a way to pause. Use them. It runs in three blocks of 30 days, each ending with a signal that you're on track. A signal is not a promise of a job or income.

Where the openings are, and what to type
Also worth a weekly look: Instahyre, Cutshort, Wellfound, and iimjobs or hirist for senior roles. Upwork and Contra if you want freelance work.
Startups, agencies, coaches and creators who want a site they can edit themselves. Contra and Upwork carry gigs, the Webflow and Framer communities post work, and agencies hire on LinkedIn.
- LinkedIn search string:
(Webflow OR Framer) AND (developer OR designer OR expert OR "no-code") - Naukri / foundit keywords: Webflow developer, Framer website designer, no code website developer
Worries people bring to this route
- Will clients hire someone older? Clients judge the site and how fast you reply. Age rarely enters it.
- Out of work for months. Rebuild a local business's site (with permission) and date the before and after.
- No degree. None of the gig listings we read asked.
- Proposals in English. A short Loom tour of a draft homepage does more selling than a long proposal.
- Family calls it 'just websites'. Owners pay to stop depending on a developer for every text change; that's the value.
- Need money quickly. Fixed-price landing pages can start within weeks; keep scope tight.
